Obama: "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"

In an overly long and out-of-touch State of the Union address, President Barack Obama left no one unscolded while doubling down on all the worst parts of his radical agenda. He called us out, and we're responding! - Mat.

If you had any question that President Obama, his appointees and the Democratic leadership of the 111th Congress are out of touch with the American people, last night's 76-minute lecture erased all doubt that they are self-interested, radical ideologues.

The president and his allies just don't get it.

Underlying his speech, which in no way acknowledged the political realities of a nation with a raging case of buyer's remorse, was a recurring theme: Americans have problems and it is the government's job to solve them. The more problems, the more government.  So trust us - we know what's best for you!

But regardless of the their tin ears, the lessons of recent elections in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts show that Americans don't want bigger government - they simply want government to get out of the way!

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell's brief but eloquent response effectively answered the President's rambling and condescending speech with a single sentence:  "Today, the federal government is simply trying to do too much."

And that's why we MUST "Take Back America" in 2010!

After listening to the President's rehash of every off-the-wall socialist agenda item he intends to force down our throats, I became more committed than ever to Liberty Counsel's campaign for a return to national sanity. We cannot allow the radical power axis to take any more ground!

The 2010 State of the Union address made it perfectly clear that President Obama and his crowd are not going to give up on ANYTHING they said they wanted from the beginning - including Cap and Trade, the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," passage of the discredited ObamaCare legislation, and all the other frightening proposals he laboriously mentioned in his speech.

The President's tone last night was imperious and disrespectful

The defining moment of Barack Obama's address to a Joint Session of Congress last year was Congressman Joe Wilson's infamous shout-out, "You lie!"

Surely this year's highlight came when the President had the audacity to scold the Justices of the United States Supreme Court, seated in the front row of the chamber just a few feet away, over their recent decision on campaign finance reform -- a decision that resuscitated the First Amendment.

In an unprecedented personal affront and show of disrespect for the separation of powers in our Constitution, Obama openly upbraided the entire Supreme Court of the United States!

A close-up camera actually caught a shocked and taken-aback Justice Samuel Alito mouthing the words, "That's not true!"

The President also condescendingly took the minority party to task for blocking his radical agenda, and, as he is prone to do, spent a significant part of his speech blaming the nation's problems on former President George Bush.

Then he stared down the stone-faced Joint Chiefs of Staff while announcing his intent to force our military services to accept openly practicing homosexuals into their ranks!

For giving a speech that lamented Americans' loss of respect for our institutions, President Obama did precious little to improve the situation.  Frankly, his arrogance gave me little confidence that he will fulfill his proper role going forward.

It is now clear that the socialists STILL plan to force ObamaCare on our nation!

No one wants pencil-pushing bureaucrats in Washington, DC, policing private medical decisions.  But the threat to our liberty posed by ObamaCare goes FAR BEYOND the realm of healthcare "reform."

If Congress can get away with this overt power grab, then individual liberty and state sovereignty will soon vanish!

The midnight manipulations and special favors (bribes) that were doled out to buy votes were never about reforming healthcare in the first place.  They were all about expanding government into our private lives!

ObamaCare is really about remaking America into a socialist nation.  There are many other components to our "Take Back America 2010" campaign, but mounting massive resistance to ObamaCare is reason enough to join with us!
